Katharine provides full private client services with an emphasis on commercial and agricultural tax planning. Her practice complements our established property services at the Petersfield office.

Katharine has completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) diploma enhancing and endorsing her skill set.

Katharine trained and practiced at a top 50 law firm in Cambridge (as ranked by The Lawyer). Her work with vulnerable clients is informed by a previous management role for a national advocacy charity.

• Smart wills
  

  Drafting bespoke wills to protect loved ones alongside appropriate tax planning which included the creation of life interest trusts.

• Estate Administration
  

  Working alongside executors to obtain Grant of Probate smoothly and expeditiously.

• Managing the affairs of others
  

  Managing the finances of clients who lack capacity pursuant to deputyship orders or powers of attorney

• Estate planning and bespoke wills
  

  Working alongside clients to understand their asset structure, including corporate and agricultural interests, and pass on those assets to loved ones in a tax efficient manner.

  Advising on the most appropriate trust vehicle, including trusts for the disabled, then creating and administering the trust.

• Probate and Estate Administration
  

  Giving practical guidance to expedite the administrative process; advising on tax consequences; navigating applications for agricultural property relief and winding up concurrent life interest trusts.

• Powers of Attorney and Deputyship
  

  Creating Powers of Attorney for personal and business use; applying for and administering applications for deputyship; helping vulnerable clients terminate Powers of Attorney which are being misused and acting for clients with disabilities.

Personal interests:

Outside the office, Katharine helps run the u12 girls’ rugby team for Petersfield and the u9s football team for Liss, keeping her fully occupied pitch-side most weekends.
