Richard Middlehurst

Richard is a well known Surrey Solicitor specialising in Family Law. He has over 35 years of experience and is a law Society accredited specialist and member of Resolution.

He has extensive experience of both the family courts and the High Court, with reported cases in the Court of Appeal. He specialises in all aspects of family law, including civil partnership , same sex marriages, and cases involving unmarried couples. This covers disputes over property and/or disputes involving children. He advises on contact disputes and cases involving the removal of children from the jurisdiction, as well as domestic violence injunctions.

A growing part of his practice involves the financial structuring of settlements on divorce and providing advice and support to business owners and partnerships. He advises on and drafts nuptial settlements, whether they are pre/post nuptial settlements, or increasingly living together agreements for unmarried couples.

Richard subscribes to the Resolution Code of Conduct that supports a constructive approach to disputes in order to avoid if possible parties having to go to court, unless absolutely necessary or in an emergency.
