Remortgaging

There are many reasons why you may decide that it is time to remortgage your property. These range from the simple fact that you can get a better rate of interest with a different lender, that you wish to increase the size of your mortgage, perhaps to fund an extension or renovations to the property, or there is to be a change in the ownership of the property and refinancing is required.

At Burley Geach we regularly handle remortgage transactions.  We are members of the solicitor panels for all major lenders and as a firm we are proud to have been accredited members of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme for many years.

How we can help

Part of our role in a remortgage process will be to investigate the legal title to the property. If necessary we will make an approach to the Land Registry for information. If the legal title is unregistered, the remortgage will trigger first registration of title at the Land Registry. We will make any necessary investigations to comply with the lenders particular requirements whilst prioritising the importance of completing the process without any unnecessary delay.

If you have an existing mortgage that is being discharged, we will liaise with your current lender to obtain a redemption statement and calculate the amount due to you which will be paid to your bank account in accordance with your instructions.

Our specialist team will provide a full breakdown of the likely costs of the transaction at the outset of our instruction to ensure that there are no nasty surprises.

As always, our aim is to make our service to you as streamlined and smooth as possible, whilst still providing a bespoke and very professional service. Please contact your nearest office if you would like to speak to one of our specialist advisers.
